The aim of this course is the presentation of the original Philosophical tradition and its beginning in vedic mythological world view and special brahmanic sciences. In the first theme there are considered the definition of “Indian philosophy” and the methodological problems of it’s study. There are also given the outline of Sanskrit literature in which the philosophical problems, terms and conceptions began to shape.

In the second theme there are presented the first philosophers and the first philosophical schools (ajivikas, jainas, bouddhists). Then in themes 3–8 we shall look on the main systems of Indian philosophy: Carvaka-Lokayata, Jainism, Bouddhism, Sankhya, Yoga, Mimansa, Vedanta, Nyaya and Vaisheshika.
