IN FRATERNAL SUPPORT OF THE INSTITUTE OF PHILOSOPHY OF THE RUSSIANACADEMY OF SCIENCES IN MOSCOW
It is disturbing news to hear that the most respected Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow had to precariously wait for the impending eviction from its present domicile in Volkhonka No. 14, where it spent the most productive years of its existence for over eight decades. At the threshold of this most important period of Russian re-emergence as one of the centers of intellectual world, the Institute of Philosophy needs unwavering support from its country. It is in view of this that we, The Philippine Academy of Philosophical Research, express our professional solidarity with our Russian colleagues. With this goes our appeal for the Authorities in Russia to abandon its intention to expel the Institute of Philosophy of Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow from its current residence. Russia has an intellectual tradition that does not need this most untimely move that could trigger cultural embarrassment.
